I just got to share this for you my non-swedish speaking friends, it's such a sweet song written by Astrid Lindgren.
Ida's Summersong (Idas sommarvisa) has come to be so popular among the swedish people (and the other nordic countries as well) that it more or less has taken over the
traditional psalm from 1693 "Den Blomstertid Nu Kommer". When this psalm is sung at school, shivers goes down the spind, because "now is it over", a whole year of studying is finally over, and summervacation awaits! But in schools Astrid Lingrens "Idas Sommarvisa" has become so popular, that it more or less has taken over the old 1600's psalm, to be the song that "salutes the graduation! Yes, even among older children and youngsters, and it wouldn't surprise me if it is even at the universities.
It is from Astrid Lingrens "Emil in Lönneberga" and is sung by the character "Ida" who is about 3-4 years old- The backstory in the TV-serie to "Ida's Summer song" is that the chickens on the farm had been eating alchohol-fermented cherries, and were all lying spread out like dead on the ground. Ida feel so sorry for them and lay her hand on their dead body. That wakes up the chickens from their alchohol induced trance, but Ida think she has magic hands, and by touching them she brings them all back to life again 😊.
And the Ida's Summersong follows that scene with Ida's magic hands - Astrid gives us this adorable song, how Ida "creates new life" by starting up the summer:

Lyrics in translation:
There'll be no summer if no one give some speed
to the summer and make it a little summery, because then -soon the flowers will come.
I make so that the flowers bloom, I make the whole cow pen green.
And so, now the summer has arrived, because I just took away the snow.
I make a lot of water in the humble stream, in a way that it jumps and flows.I make a lot of swallows, and mosquitos that the swallows take.
I make the leaves new on the trees, and small bird nests here and there.
I make the sky beautiful in the evenings, because I make it entirely pink.
And wild strawberries I make for the children, because I that is what I think they should have.
And other small, funny things that suits the children when they're small.
And I make small funny places where the children can run around.
Then the children becomes full of summer, and the legs becomes full of runnings.
(It is Astrid Lindgren herself who is the story teller in the TV series)
Emil was her own favourite character, and she have said: "When I knew that I was writing
the last lines about Emil, I cried, knowing that I'll never again look in to what he's up to.
I so much love that boy!".
She wrote 11 books about Emil. And 5 movies or TV series was made about Emil and his just as charming family's adventures.
It's actually this TV-serie and this little girl who made the song so tremendously popular.
And our Love for Astrid Lindgren Of Course! (it's the child actor who play's Ida, that also sings the song)
